As some of you already know and some may not our youth group travels on a yearly mission trip through youth works. It is both a spiritual growing experience at the same time serving a community in need. This year 23 youth and 4 adult leaders made the journey to Benton Harbor, Michigan. Legacy cellular has agreed to purchase all old cell phones from us (working or not) chargers are not needed. Depending on how many we collect we will receive up to $3.50 per phone. Every phone will be run through a device that erases all information on the phone. Any phone with a smart card, the smart card is destroyed.
We will be collecting phones through October 31st. members to volunteer to adopt a month and plan a Fellowship Event.
Tina Simons was kind enough to make a sign up sheet with some
suggestions for events and it is hanging on the bulletin board in the narthex.
If you would be willing to plan a get-together, Tina posted some suggestions
such as bowling, a game and movie night, a parent’s day off where
we provide childcare for a couple hours so parents could do some
Christmas shopping alone, etc, or even a bonfire or lazy gourmet
or any other idea you may have. If you are willing to plan an event,
there is a sign up sheet for you to write in a description of your
event with details. It begins with June 2009! Please think about
your time and talents and share with the congregation!!! If you
have any questions, you may contact Marie Kuntz at church.
